alright, just recently (a couple months ago) got my 03 GT. love it! the only mod i have done is a CAI, and now i have about $300 bucks to do something that will actually make a little difference. I came across two awesome deals and can't figure out which one is better. A friend of a friend owns a muffler shop, and he said he can hook me up with a catback with mufflers (More than likely flows) for $300. But then my mechanic friend offered to help me install some 4.10s, and i dont think he'd charge me (I'd pay him anyways). which should i do first!?!? Just want some advice from others who have been there. also, what kind of mufflers if i do exhaust, super 44s, outlaws, glasspacks? i like em loud n deep (i wanna FEEL the rumble).

I'd get the gears. Mufflers and catbacks can be found cheap used all the time. A free gear install cannot. Just my $0.02.

You get screwed on gear installations. Get gears if you can get the work done for a freebie. That's the only reason I still have my stock 3.55's.

Go with the gears. You won't feel a difference with the catback but you will feel a big difference with the gears.

Why not both?

$160 for gears (have your mechanic friend help you install them for a minimal charge)

Instead of a catback, just weld-in some mufflers and save yourself a lot of $$$.

Seeing as you have friends in both areas, I can see you doing both for around $300

yeah.

yeah, thats what I'm going to do. i just cant wait to get em put in! my buddy's got an srt-4, last time we raced it was too close to really call, now i'm gonna smoke his a$$! do glasspacks really sound that bad, If im just getting mufflers welded on I'll probably go cheap because eventually i wanna get a true exhaust from the headers back.

By "true exhaust" do you mean true dual exhaust? If so then......you already have one. 4.6L V8's came with true dual exhaust stock
