I have a 97 cobra coupe and I am getting ready to change my exhaust soon. My question is who makes the best quality catted h pipe for my car. I know most people use x pipes nowadays, and they have been known to produce more power, but I already had a Bassani catted x on my old 96 gt with flows and I personally like the h pipe sound better. I wanted to get a mrt h pipe but I guess they only make stuff for 99 & up cars. I would prefer a stainless system but have not been able to find one. As of now the car is bone stock, and I will be getting either a magnaflow or borla catback soon also.Any help would be appreciated.

Why the x and not the h pipe? I am not looking for a really loud sound, but a smooth deep throaty sound. The x pipe with the flows gave me a headache on long drives or driving home after a long day at work. it was probably due to the chambered flows though. Honestly i am looking for a relatively quiet setup, but better performing than stock. It actually sounds good stock, which surprised me, because when my gt was stock u couldnt even hear the engine, but i want the added performance that the aftermarket setup will give me.

I have a mac catted h-pipe and it sounds badass and the finish and quality in my opinion is top notch. It comes coated in some black paint or something and all the fittings were very nicely done.

I get a little drone when easing into the gas at about 1900-2200 rpm. But if I give it a little more gas there's no drone anywhere. And there's ZERO rasp, which I hate.

I'm running this in conjunction with Flows AT catback system.
