Dont know if I am getting old but took the mustang out today and its just to loud for me. Mac short tubes, off road h pipe and flowmaster 2 chambers.

Anyone on here weld in aftermarket converters onto their offroad pipe? I was thinking of getting magnaflow catalytic converters and doing this. Reason being I do not have to run an air tube to them.

Also shopping to for quieter cat back, just waiting to see what the guys at the local car show are running.

Just make sure you don't let a shop weld it up and do a total hack job on it. Whatever doofus had my car before me tried to weld in a pair of universal cats to the off-road H-pipe and not only did it look horrible (pieces of weld wire hanging off it and whatnot), but the ground clearance was crap and was all kinds of Frankenstein'ed ...

...um, no offense to Frankie's car, of course...

Ive got a MAC catted H for sale.
You could probably just weld up the smog tube hole.

Some catalytic converters are designed to run without the extra air from the smog pump and some aren't. If you run cats made with the smog pump air tube without the smog pump air, they will clog and die over time.
