I want to put cats back on my GT. Right now I've got a Mac off road H and Mac FlowPath exhaust with stock headers. I like the sound, but it's a little loud for my taste these days. I want to tone it down a little bit, but not too much. The main thing I don't like is that the sound gets really deep around 2k, to the point that it's irritating even driving around town, let alone when on the highway. A stock catted H pipe made my exhaust way too quiet for my liking but all the deep bass at 2k was still there, so I'm thinking a catted X might be the way to go.
Has anyone heard one with a Mac FlowPath, and did it sound decent?
Secondly, what's a good catted X for not too much money? They're all pretty expensive... I'm thinking maybe buying a Dr. Gas kit, 2 universal cats, and welding it up myself might be the way to go, any comments?
