CCRM question. Please help!!!

Last summer my A/C went out in my 2002 Mustang GT. I took it to the shop and they diagnosed it as the CCRM. I didn't do much about it because summer was almost over. About 3 weeks ago I purchased one off of ebay that matched the part number the guy at my local Ford Dealership told me was correct.


In case the picture doesnt show up that is part number F8ZF-12B581-AB with service part number of F6SF-12B577-AB and a big "R" on the right side

When I pulled mine out it had a part number of 1R3F-12B581-AA and a service part number of 1R3F-12B577-AA and a big "B" on the right side.


Obviously these part numbers are different, but I bought what the Ford Parts guy told me and I figured since I already had it apart I would try it. I put that part in the car and the A/C still didn't work.

I may sound dumb but is the part that different that it would effect the AC still not working? I mean the shop diagnosed it as the CCRM back in August of last year and this part didn't fix it.

I went to the shop today because I was going to have them order a new one and put it in but the part is on backorder now so my only bet is to find a used one and buy it, but I don't want to buy another one if that is not the problem? I don't really know what to do, and it is stressing me out because it is hot and I need the AC. The leather is killing me.

Please let me know what I should do from here.

I found one at MPS with the right number I am just leery of buying it if its not the right thing.

I just don't know if the part number will really effect this or something else is wrong other than the CCRM?

I honestly did not check that. I will now though.

So at the risk of stating the obvious, did you check the fuses? Esp fuse F2.23, F2.24, F2.2, and F1.24? However, not a bad idea to check all of them.

F1=Battery Junction box in the engine bay (BJB)
F2=Central Junction box in the left hand kick panel (CJB)

Possible the old CCRM blew a fuse before the repair.

It turns out it was the fuse not the CCRM. I found this out because when I bought another CCRM it didn't work so I looked up what you had said and looked in the engine bay and there wasn't even a fuse in the 24 spot. Which pretty much means when I took my car in last summer to have the AC charged they took the fuse out and tried to tell me it was that part so they could get me for more money. I'm not very happy about this. The BBB won't do anything because they diagnosed it last summer.

So I'd recommened if you are in the Spokane, WA- North Idaho area that you should not go to Perfection Tire. This is not the first time I have felt screwed over by them.

I feel kind of like an idiot now. I am just glad I figured it out before I let the shop screw me!
