CD Player Problems

I've got a '96 GT with the factory stereo setup (never touched it). What happens is when I play a CD from start to finish its fine, but if I try to skip past track five or so, it clicks/makes some noises then spits the CD out. Anyone have any ideas?

Also, I went to Best Buy today looking for a new head unit and the guy told me that the factory system puts out more power than anything they had (or something like that, I don't really understand sound systems). Is there anything out there that'll work for me?

try this, I know a few people have had problems with their cd player not ejecting their cd's. but hopefully this helps.
