Cdplayer turns off when headlights are on??

I recently put a cd player in and the guy that had it hacked off the wiring so I had to match all the wires up for install. Everything works fine, but when I turn on the healights the cd player goes off.
Do any of you guys that know alot about stereos know whats wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Almost sounds like one of the power wires is hooked into a dimmer control wire. You need to recheck your wires.

you have your ground wire hooked into your dimmer wire.
