I recently installed a VRS o/r x-pipe on my 96 GT. I installed the rear MIL eliminators to try to keep the CEL from coming on. Anyway it came on and my friend with an SCT tuner pulled the code. The code shows that the front O2 sensors are not heating up properly. I have researched and read that with some x-pipes it relocates the position of the O2 sensors further from the manifold thus not heating them quickly enough. He used the tuner to reset the code but after a few minutes of driving it again, the CEL came on throwing the same code. I am new to this so I am wondering what the best course of action would be to remedy the problem. My car only has basic bolt on modifications (CAI, 70mm TB, o/r x-pipe, magnaflow cat back) so I am trying to figure if taking it to get tuned is worth the money, or if I should just buy a chip, or if there is another option. The car is only driven on the weekend and I do not race it so I was wondering if a chip might be the best route. I welcome any and all recommendations.

Yes, they are the original O2 sensors and the car has 93K on it.

coudl be they are just old and need to be replaced. get some motorcrafts and see if anything changes. you dont need new cat monitors since the MIL elims are taking care of them.
