That paint will just burn off--
see-they are ceramic coated-wnich makes them retain heat. In the areas the ceramic is gone-there will be a ton of heat trying to dissipate, understand. It will be worse in that tiny area than if the entire header was un coated.
yeah, it sucks,
you need to have them re coated after welding-about 75 bux per header-plus buffing time if you need it.
Just so you know-the ceramic coating in itself is anout 10 bux per ounce, and it will take 2 oz per shorty header-if not a bit more.
I'd run them like that and save for a new set--
What bothers me though is that massive heat loss right at the header flange--
This will cost some power---
