Cervinis LX body kit

No cutting. They just mount on top of the LX bumper covers with double sided tape. These kinds of kits are not made for, nor will they work with GT's. It sounds like that's what you're asking with the "air dam" reference. To use any of the LX kits (Saleen, etc) on a GT, the GT would first have to be completely converted to an LX.... bumper covers, molding pieces, filling rivet holes for the GT side ground effects, etc... then the kit could be added.
Wouldn't be worth it in my opinion.
If you DIDN'T mean for a GT, then yes... the kit will attach right up to an LX's bumpers and to the sides with a combination of 3M tape and screws inside the fender lips.
Hope this helps! :nice:

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't notice before that your car is a 84' GT. I don't see a body kit on Cervini's site for an 84. I think the rear bumpers are the same for your year and 87-93 LX's, but the front I'm not sure about at all.

my 84 looks like a 87-93 lx i converted it over so i could buy a different hood, I really like the kit so hopefully i will get this kit and it will look good, how durable is the two sided tape? Has anyone had any problems with anything on these kits

Oh ok, I was wondering if you had converted it to 87-93 style. So if your car is an LX now, the kit would definately mount right up. As far as the tape.... if you use a good quality tape (3M) and all sufaces are extremely clean, the tape works great. When I put my car together and got it painted, I used the 3M tape on my door moldings and they're not going anywhere. There is also an epoxy type glue that I've heard people talking about that you can use for mounting these types of things. But just like all epoxies, I think once you attach the pieces with it, they will be there for life! Epoxies are no joke. I would like to think that if I ever needed to remove any of them for any reason, I would be able to do so without grinding away the pieces from the body. But again, I've only heard about this glue, haven't used it myself, nor do I know much about it.
As far as fitment goes... You're really not going to get any better than Cervini's. If you get the kit from them, you can pretty much bet that it will be of great quality, will fit perfectly, and will need little to no prep work. I got the 93 Cobra rear bumper from them and it was as perfect as it could be. It needed no prep work at all, besides just cleaning it for painting.
Someone who has bought the kit you're looking at will probably jump in here soon and give you more exact details about it. It seems to be a very popular kit.
Hope this helps, good luck with it!

Also, you would have to add LX door moldings, the LX moldings on the sides of the door moldings, the LX moldings on the front fenders, the LX moldings behind the rear wheels, and the front fender extensions.
Yes, to change a GT to Saleen style would be a huge project. But 84blkstang doesn't have to worry about it, since he has LX stuff. :nice:
