Champion Fiberglass Hoods

I had a Cervini fiberglass hood for my 1989 GT and I want one for my 1991 GT...how are the Champion hoods on quality, fitment, etc.? Or should I just go ahead and pay the extra for the Cervini? Thanks for any help.

Pay the extra. I have had a few but they were not put on nice cars. The only one put on a nice car had over 50 hours of work put into it. I would not feel safe without pin's in it, but thats just me. Pic of car with 50+hours of work in the hood

Just pay the extra coin and get the Cervinis. Most Cervinis hoods I've seen just needed to be sanded and painted. For a real sick paint job on them all you got to do it high build prime it and block it down then shoot it. The fitment is perfect on those hoods. I won't buy anything but Cervinis.

I got a carbonware hood it and it seems to work pretty good, needs to be painted still though so Idk what problems will come up with that if any..

H.O. Fibertrends was the supplier for the 95 Cobra R hood, IIRC. They're supposed to be just as good as Cervini's.

Thats what I was told and from what Ive seen they look great...also I can drive to their shop and pick one up saving me money! Thanks.

I agree. Champion hoods are good for a car you beat up on the weekends or a car you drive every day. I would not put it on a real nice car or show car

I have a champion fiberglass one on my sn95. It's 'decent' but it took alot of work and it isn't 100% perfect.

I would pay the money 100x over to run a Cervini. IMO if your intent is to run a 95 Cobra R, I'd buy the one directly from Ford Racing....which is what I wish I would have done

After 50 hours of work i wouldn't even call it a Champion hood anymore, it's YOUR hood after that kind of work. That's less hours than they put in it to make it.

I had a 4 inch cowl on my car when i first got it...and even with pins, the fitment was so bad that it would shake and rattle and lift up really bad at highway speeds. I traded it for a stock hood...it flew off the guy's car i traded it to and luckily didn't do any damage.

I actually met the guy who makes them and know his brother. He lives here in my home town. I picked the hood up locally. It was like 270 bucks. The fact I got it that cheap you just cant beat it. I'll agree that the hood is thinner and I probably wouldn't run it without hood pins. Fits pretty good after adjusting and kicking it out. What do you expect for that cheap though? The fellow even told me it needs work. It's just body work.

Buy the cervini's... i bought a cheap hood and i got what i paid for, i hate looking at it, the underside is junk. I will be buying a cervini's someday, just dont know when, i with i did it right the first time

i got a 4" kaenen, cant complain, after 50 minutes it looked like it came on the car stock and latches like a stocker

The last hood I picked up from Champion I could'nt get to line up very well. I called them and he told me to drive the car to there shop. The guy spent about 10 min. fitting the hood on my car and then I was happy with the fit. They may not have the best hoods on the market but the guy went out of his way to make it right. For the price They have me as a customer! There web site is Fiberglass hoods manufactured by Champion Hoods and Products

yeah they made the hoods for the '95 R & '00 R for Ford. I have seen a couple of these hoods up close and they are very good quality. I would put them in same league has cervinis.
