Ok, I changed my mind. For those of you who have been keeping up , I am keeping my 414.
Its unique in that it is a 414, its got the low end I want and great HP. It peaks at 5200 and has a lot more in it. I have ultra lightweight rods so I could prolly spin it pretty high too but I have decided I LIKE stock driveability!
Here's what I am changing:
1. This car is way too loud at WOT and it smells so I am putting ultra high flow cats on it.
2. I am going to get Rick Hawver's tuner to get that dam hesitation out of it from the 02's (that goes away when I disconnect the battery - reseting the puter).
3. Rick is putting in a friendlier cam. One that prolly has a LSA more suited for the 94/95 pcm picky-ness. It sounds AWESOME but the vibrating and rattling at lights drives me insane! So what if I make 480bHP instead of 520 or so with a lighter cam? I don't drive the car around at 5200 rpm. I drive it at 1500-3000 mostly!
No more bucking, great power curve, no more stink, nice idle at the lights, no more attracting too much attention = nice driver!
So if I want to start blowing away modded cobras then I've got a good start with the cam and I can switch out the pistons and crank down the road.
