Hi everyone my friend has a 1997 Ford Mustang GT with 109K miles on it that would only turn over and crank but would not start up and idle. I installed new Motorcraft spark plugs and Motorcraft spark plug wires and it still would not start up. I installed a new Motorcraft fuel filter on his car and the car started up and idled. I inspected the old Motorcraft fuel filter that has been on his car for how knows how long and I found that it was clogged up and very light brown gas came out of it. When in question if your fuel filter has not been changed or if you actually have the original Motorcraft fuel filter on your Mustang change your fuel filter! I have seen fuel filters on our Mustangs get clogged before and cause your Mustang to not start. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter?
