I am getting ready to order some 4.10's for my 08 GT. The car has 12,000 miles on it. What are recommendations on bearing replacement and rebuilding the traction LOK? The site that sells the gears recommend the bearing replacement and traction LOK rebuild. Are most people replacing all of these components or just getting the pinion gears and install kit without the bearings.

The T-LOK shouldn't need rebuilding after 12k. My 95's T-LOK has 93k of hard miles, and it's still running very well. Get the bearings/shims kit from wherever you order from. It should come with the full rebuild kit, the ring and pinion, gear oil, and friction modifier for around $250.

Thanks for the replies. Does anyone know any good mechanics to do the gear changeout in the Tennessee or Alabama areas?

how do you like the 3.73s? i've got 3.31s right now and was thinking of going to 3.73s, but i didn't know if it would be worth the effort. i don't think i want to go to 4.10 gears because my rpms might get too high on the highway.
