Changing diff fluid

I used Purple RTV with yellow polka dots, then bought a gasket & put that over the rtv, then welded the differential cover on, and finally dipped the housing in melted platinum.....just to be safe.

as long as that works for you


On topic though, any type of RTV will seal for you.

Does the RP come with friction modifier in it or is it not needed with the RP?

it comes already blended in the gear oil on the RP

This thread is crazy. The second post explains how to go about changing differential fluid ... with pictures.

The book calls for 4 oz of it so does he add 2 bottles(8oz) for each vehicle?

1 differential fluid change = add 4 oz of friction modifier.
