changing my dash

ok here is the deal. Im got a dash out of an 87 or 88 mustang. and its going into my 83 capri. now what I wanna know is. Is it a direct swap or do I have to modify the wireing in order to get it all to conect. Keep in mind I am in the very near future going to be replacing the tired old carbed 2.3 with a low milage F.I. 4 banger motor. has any one done this, is there diagrams availible?? bal bla bla.
