Changing Pistons, Can you do it in the car?

LoL ok I'm gonna be replacing my wounded / killed pistons, the question is has anyone ever done it without pulling the Motor? I'm just curious on if it can be done in the car or not, might save me some time lol. Info/pics would be GREAT! :flag: :hail2: :canada:

Yes, start by removing the fuel pump. Youll need a borascope to slide into the fuel lines and down through an injector in order to see what your doing. Get yourself an impact wrench, some radiator fluid, and a spare tire...

its not possible.

Edit: Its possible, but not probable. Install the connecting rod and piston from the deck, remove the oil pan/drop the k-member and torque the connecting rod. I wouldnt recommend doing it, there is no way to check tolerances. Bad idea :bang:

Yeah I learned the hard way never let a hack work on your car, the idiot decked the heads and didn't check the PTVC with my powermax cam and literaly destroyed two cylinderheads, badly wounded one piston and smashed the hell out of another bending the wrist pin

I think it would be close.... I would go with something with less lift though, just my opinion. Maybe someone who has that setup could tell you better though

Alot of PV clearance has to do with the duration of the cam as well, not only the lift.
