Charcoal Canister hose issue...

I just want to know where the two hoses from the Charcoal Canister go. I started my car up and had a little smoke and it had a smell on the passenger side of the engine bay down near the headers. I am thinking some fluid got on there and was just burning it.

One goes to the fuel tank vent (plastic line) and the other goes to the CANP (canister purge solenoid valve), which then goes to the upper intake manifold.

Okay because I have one hose going directly to the back of my upper intake? is that ok?

Sounds right as long as the line goes to the canister purge solenoid and not to the gas tank vent. The gas tank vent must connect directly to the canister.
