Installing a new charcoal cannister in 85 5.0. Working from scratch so I cannot simply unplug the old and plug in the new. The two large holes at the top are 3/4 inch, the lower left is 1/4 and the lower right is 3/8 inch. I am fairly sure that one of the 3/4 openings goes up to the air cleaner but unsure which opening is for the fuel line running to the tank etc.

So the two on the top have caps that breath like this:

I believe the 1/4" nipple is connected to the fuel tank and the 3/8" goes to the EVAP solenoid.

The EVAP solenoid should have an arrow marking the direction of the vapor flow indicating the inlet and the outlet connections.
You want to connect from the canister into the inlet of the solenoid.
Enlarge the attached photos. It’s Hard to see [arrow] but it’s there….

You need one of these:

1983 Ford Mustang, Capri Wiring Diagrams Manual | eBay

This Wiring Diagrams Manual provides factory-correct information for 1983 Ford Mustang, Capri Wiring Diagrams Manual. Approximate manual size: 11 x 8 1/2. Official OEM reprint. Vehicle coverage: 1983 Ford Mustang, Capri.
www.ebay.com

And one of these:

1983 Ford Mustang and Mercury Capri Wiring Diagram Foldout Electrical Schematic | eBay

This is the original wiring diagram printed by Ford for dealer mechanics. You can follow the wiring in your vehicle from bumper-to-bumper. It will help you to understand connector configurations, and locate & identify circuits, relays, and grounds. Although the schematic is in black and white...

I am not sure buy maybe @limp already has them and would share with you but he was an only child and doesn't like sharing much...

There were no pics or schematics in my Electric and vacuum manual....
I can tell you one of these canisters bolts to the subframe under the battery ( battery on the pass side this year) and the other bolts under the radiator almost to the pass side of the radiator......
I removed all 82 pounds of these vacuum lines, solenoids, and brackets from my 83 car, but I will plug my fuel tank vent line into one of them without having it attached to any vacuum source.. At least that is the plan.. No computer in my 83...
