Well, this is "learn from my mistakes" week. I swear, one thing after another has gone wrong for me. Now, guess what? I bought a CAI from a dealer on Ebay. I should have known better, because I paid a total of $50 for the thing, shipping and all.

Well, everything was going well installing it until I realized the bottom of the plate where it goes down into the wheel well wasn't lining up. After fiddling with this part of it for 2.5 hours, I gave up. The thing is just a cheap piece of garbage. I got what I paid for!

So. Now, I am going to save up for a GOOD intake. Probably a Straighshot, or something else like that. It's gotta be something easy to install, because I'm not going through all that crap again.

To everyone on here... don't buy cheap junk off Ebay! Common sense, I know. Don't get me wrong, Ebay has some really great stuff on there, but there is always someone out there willing to make a buck off of the cheap stuff.

I'm going to get 4.10's put in this week too. A shop is doing that, though. I'm not much of a mechanic beyond a CAI (and maybe not even that much of one, apparently). Nah, I give myself more credit than that. It really is just a piece of junk intake. It even had some bolts and a piece of tubing missing that I needed to have! Hopefully I won't have trouble with the 4.10's when they get in there now....

Very true... 99.9% of the time you get what you pay for. There are a lot of people trying to get their feet wet in the Mustang market, unforunately a lot of them aren't producing much of a product, lol.

Good luck with the 4.10's!

Sorry to hear about your sour deal. Best thing to do is give that person you bought it from a bad Ebay rating and when buying things off ebay, ALWAYS buy from a person that has good sale record with other members.

As for intakes, right now I'de just stick with my K&N air filter and pull the silencer until I had more money and then I'de look into getting a K&N FIPK system. Thats what I have and I like mine.

LOL at the Bruce Campbell quite

Well, the person I got it from has an excellent rating. I don't think it's them honestly, I think it was the product is just cheap crap. Dealing with them was no problem, but I think I'll give them a neutral rating. I think it kind of was their fault, but kind of mind too for buying such a cheap product.

Yeah, Bruce Campbell is awesome. I liked his small roles in the spiderman movies myself.

i had the BBK cold air induction. What a load of crap. It looked really cool under the hood, and thats ALL IT DID. the filter barely even fit into the wheel well, and it used the stock MAF housing, which I cracked (it's plastic) when trying to bolt everything together.. Friggin retarded peice of crap. Now I'm using C&L trufit inlet pipe, and i COULD NOT BE HAPPIER, it really does "truely fit". much to my suprise. at least.

with aftermarket parts it's always possible for stuff to not line up...

esp if your car has been in an accident, or suffered a little warpage on the chassis

I couldn't agree more about the BBK. I had it on my car and I didn't like it. I have an K&N FIPK now and I love it.

Pretty much most CAI intakes are just for looks. I like mine because it cleaned up the engine bay, but it most likely did nothing for me. I ended up doing the Darkwolf Mod to deal with the issue of the 90 degree bend in the intake.
