me and my brother are looking for a decent digital camcorder to take vids and load them up to the computer. he likes to piddle around make movies, and i would like to shoot some vids of my mustang.

just seeing what you guys are using, we want something pretty cheap that does well with just piddly stuff. post some links or something

I have a Canon ZR500 that i bought during the holidays at best buy for 199.99 it's pretty good too. It's a mini DV by the way.

are mini dvs little discs?

and does the camera use a USB cable to connect to a computer?

Yes on the USB but it uses little "tapes"

theres that new little handheld one that does up to 30 minues...no tapes i believe....and it just hooks right up with USB...i think its cheap too

PANASONIC VDR-D220

that will be my next one. you can pick them up on ebay for less than 200 and it records to mini dvd. i had a sony for a while but finally had to give it back to my mom. that would have been a nice $700 gift.
