I was gonna show off last and do a burn out, so i drop the clutch at about 35-4000 rpm and the clutch started to stink real bad. Now it chatters under light accel. Are these things that weak?????? Luckily I have some contact at the dealer still, but thats pretty bad to not last under 1 burnout at 4500 miles

It is a piece of garbage. If you run a blower with 8-10 lbs boost and drag radials the SOB will hold up for about 10 runs on the track.

Stock and under 12k miles many Clutch Disc Failures. Be carefull till they recall all these cars for clutch replacements. Many have exploded in my area because my son had 3 cars in the last month with destroyed transmissions. Valeo still manufactures the clutches for Ford and they have not taken responsibilty yet. Lawyers are working a case in Ohio now so many should benefit if they win but till then .... Be Carefull

The Centerforce clutch is a good clutch for the money.

well, it kept shaking on 1st gear so i pulled over and tried another burn out, seeing if it would break, but maybe it "cleaned" itself, because the chattering has stopped. I was gonna run it tonight at test n tune, but its got me a bit nervous if it will last. All stock,no mods(only exhaust)

I will NEVER use Centerforce again, i had one in my fastback and it chattered from day one. I only trust Mcleod or Spec now.

I've had 3 Centerforce clutch packages in my car in the last 6 months. I guess mine is the test mule. The latest clutch (my 3rd) is a pretty damn good set up. From what I hear all of the aftermarket clutch companys have been having problems do to the limited hydraulic flow with the car's stock clutch master cylinder and slave set up. If you buy a replacement Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch make sure you get the one like my prototype. It has fewer weights on the diaphram and a re-engineered pressure plate. I highly recommend it.

No, it can't. You should probably invest in a new clutch package if you plan on any time at the strip at all.

i had over 100 drag strip passes with over 30 on slicks at over 490 rwhp ..

and my clutch was still not slipping when i pulled it for a aftermarket clutch this weekend due to adding nitrous to my car.

power house 411 ran a ton of mid tens with a stock clutch.

sounds more like poor drivers shifters then week clutch to me

i also have tried almsot every aftermarket clutch out there and by far the ram is the best setup for the cars i have tried .. the centerforce sucs it has trouble disengageing the mmr cluthc didnt work same problem .. the mcloud was ok but pedal effort was high ./. after trying each of these clutches i put the stock clutch back in withing a day of installing them.. the ram shifts perfect releases perfect is only slighlty harder then stock pedal effort and has not had a single issue behind my car makeign 575 rear wheel horses and 540 rear wheel torque ..

I have not tried the spec clutch however

I've heard too many horror stories about the stock clutch to ignore it. You have not tried the new Centerforce setup that's in my car. It's their latest prototype and it's been pretty damn sweet so far. No problems with high rpm shifting to speak of.
