I'm looking for some cheap, sticky summer tires. I have the mods listed in my sig and when I took a kid out for a ride today, I stopped on a clean, clear road and tried to takeoff for him. Tried is the key word in that sentence, because (with an automatic from a dead stop) I put the pedal to the floor, and it was spinning tire all over the place. I let go for a second after the car was moving a bit, then put it to the floor again, and it still was spinning the tires all over the place. The tires all the way around are pretty new, but I want to just replace the rear ones so I can actually launch. Keep in mind this is a daily driver, but only for summer because I have winter tires. The size I want is 245/50-16. Any recommendations, preferably cheap and sticky, tread wear doesn't really matter that much.

Believe me, I wish it wern't true, but pretty much anywhere below 4-5k in first gear is open territory for tire roasting. I'm looking at nitto 555r (a bit overkill and exspensive) and g-force t/a kdw 2 (also a bit overkill and exspensive, and I can only find them in 225/45ZR16), but anything a little lower in price would be awesome. I mean, it's a non-pi gt. I just want to not spin the tires from a full throttle dead stop launch, that's all.

"I just want to not spin the tires from a full throttle dead stop launch, that's all" you better be putting in a clutch and axles if you think you can launch like that

Well spinning a little is fine, but going all over the road for a non-pi gt with almost no mods is completely unacceptable. Also, clutch?

Well I would say some 555Rs would be good but they dont hook like you think they would. They are average at best and I have even heard there are some street tires that hook better than them. lol I have these and can blow them off from a 65mph roll.

g force sports, hook almost as good as the kdw, but ride quiter, better wear rating, and smoother

Can't give you any feedback yet, but I just put G-force sports on mine yesterday. Very good reviews on tirerack at a very good price.
