Cheapest way to control timing in the car?

What is the cheapest way I can control the timing from inside the car?

I mean change the timing from the drivers seat for on the juice or off.

Those control timing with a knob, or you can just get an ignition that will control it.

loosen your distributor hold down...tie two strings to each side of the distributor and run them thru the firewall to the pass. compartment. Then pull on one string to retard the timing (the one tied to the drivers side of the dist.) or pull on the other string (pass. side) to advance the timing. And all it will cost you is a couple of pennies for the string. Thats the cheapest way i can thing of doing it.

and here I was thinking of removing the hood and taping a broom stick onto the top to swivel it.

But back to seriousness.... it'll cost me a couple hundred to do it that way. Does this also increase my spark and what not?

The reason I ask is I'm trying to figure out if there are other benefits. Ideally it would be to get a Tweecer but I don't have the $$$ to spend on that and a laptop and no time to learn it all. Plus there aren't many good dynos in the area.

Right now I change my fuel pressure at the track to compensate the nitrous. If I could change the timing, I might be able to get away with the higher fuel pressure all the time and just bump the timing when running N/A... or am I mistaken?

The timing controllers I showed you let you retard the total timing however many degrees you want with the turn of a dial. They don't increase spark however. If you want something like that, you need an ignition:

JR... what is this and what does it do... and how much? That enough questions for your 6 letters? (BTW I got the first 3, just not the last)

It's a Boost Timing Manager. It has a soft touch rev limiter you can ajust will pills that plug in. It will allow you to pull timing with just a turn of a knob from inside the car. Also it's an ignition box that adds more spark. I paid like $350 for mine and it helped control my detonation in boost and should help you with the n2o.
I mounted my knob on the floor beside the seat.

All the BTM does is pull a certain degrees of timing for every psi of boost you make. This would not work for you Paul because you are not boosted.

I have a MSD 6A box and the MSD timing control box. I don't remember how much I paid but I can control everything from the drivers seat.
