Are there any other cars besides the '88-'87 stangs that had a computer and no CE light???
We wont know - if there were the cars are not on the road anymore since they wont pass smog. :rlaugh:

I cant think of any puter controller cars that I have had which did not have a CEL/MIL. Some of those were SD.

i got screwed getting my car smogged in april. i passed emissions with flying colors, then was failed because of no check engine light(88 gt non cali car) my frpp gt40 intake "wasnt smog legal" as well as my bbk 65mm tb. i got the carb numbers, showed him, then he made me run agian, i failed because my egr went out, but passed visiual, and im still trying to get it to pass. smog is bullsheet

its working fine...BUT it feels like its being held back ALOT.... that speed density is going to be really upset when i throw the 185 afrs on though lol, thanks i didnt even think about doing a search :nice:

ur sig says stock ported heads and speed density, of course the 331 is being held back, put some REAL heads on it, change to mass air, and then you should be happy

I am going to a state referee to get it to pass. This is ridiculous. I will check my manual but I seriously doubt it will say that it doesn't have a CE light. What BS. There's got to be lots of 88 49 state cars in CA. How does everyone else get them to pass smog? Pay the guy off?

Brian, glad to hear you got it straightened out. And good man for sharing the info for future folks who might end up in the same pickle. :nice:

i just talked to my friend that works at ford and he told me my 88 should have check engine light.........funny i have never seen the thing even when it was running on 4 cylinders lol. glad we dont have inspections in oklahoma lol...i dont own a car with cats lol
