Will a check engine light NOT come on when something is wrong? I have an 89 GT, if I dont run it for a week or 2 then it has problems firing and almost seems like I have the firing order wrong which I know is correct. Then when it does start and I step on the gas there is a decent size hesitation. The check engine light does not come on, but will it throw error codes anyways??

Also, if I run the car everyday or run it every other day it runs fine and fires up fine. I wanted to say fuel pump or something to do with the fuel but I guess it could be spark too. I am going to tune her up in the near future after I get her registered just wanted to know if anyone might have any ideas??

Check your ignition timing. Set it at 10* so you can get it running. Next clean your maf sensor. Then I would check your tps voltage, and finally reset your computer. I would definitly do that tuneup as quick as you can.

As far as the check engine light not going on, you still should be able to recieve codes from the computer. RESET YOUR BATTERY AFTER YOU PULL CODES.
