Okay here's the deal. I got rear ended yesterday and will need to replace my rear bumper. SO I figured I'd just go ahead and put in a GT bumper and prepare for a dual exaust. Here's my question:
Will a dual exhaust (i.e. better exhalling) lead to my check engine light coming on. I know this can happen with an improved intake (even something as simple as a K&R without upgrading fuel injector, since more air with the same gas leads to it running lean which triggers the check engine light).
My whole reason for asking is that I live in St. Louis County in MO and there is an emission testing system in place that is horrible. For new cars they don't even run an emissions test on the exhaust, they simply run an engine diagnostic and if anything is up with that--like a check engine light--your car automatically fails. I saw a thing on the news about a guy that put a cat-back system on his truck and it failed the inspection.I don't want to go through with this if it is gonna cause me more headache than it's worth.
Any input..BTW I have a '03 V6 that is completely stock right now.
