well now that its getting cold outside its 40's to 50's in the morning and my car doesnt seem to like the cold too much but anyway when i drive it in the morning to school the check engine light flashes when i accelerate and turns off when i let off the pedal so i thought mabey it was my cold air intake affecting this so today i pulled the CAI and replaced it with the stock air box so the ultimate test the car hasnt been driven in almost 2 days i start it up its about 50 degrees out and raining i drive around the block hit it a little and the flashing check engine light is gone. here's the question why is my CAI causing this? i plan on getting rid of the CAI it fit like Sh@t and the whole fender well air cleaner is a pain in the arse. gotta make room for the SC :D

Don't feel too bad. My car has done that since practically new in '93. That was with no mods at all at the time! The dealership couldn't find any codes. It only does it when the car is cold. The light flashes intermittently until I have gone 8 miles or so in the mornings, then goes off. I would love to hear the answer to this question. By the way, my car has 125,000 miles on it now and runs great. I don't think the blinky light really has a negative effect...at least it hasn't with mine.
