On the way to work today I look down and see that the Speedo and odometer aren't working. Not really that big of a deal since now it's not registering miles put on the car. But shortly after that the dreaded "Check Engine Soon" light comes on. Then getting off the freeway the idle is all over the place, bouncing from 300-1000 rpm. I did race it at Infineon last wednesday but it ran fine for the past 5 days. I'm going to track down an Autozone but wanted to see how many hit's i could get to maybe fix it myself. I'm going to go out and unhook the battery for a while and see if it will clear itself.

Any other ideas????

If the Battery thing doesn't work, I know that there is a way to get a digital read out of your Speedometer.... but I don't remember what it is. This might help to let you know if it is a sensor or the guage that is bad.

I assume that some sensor is actually bad since you are throwing a code.

Anyone know what I am talking about with the digital speedo read out?

I know the process to use the odo as a didgital read out for other things, but the odometer isn't reading out at all. It looks like this ----------.
