I think it looks OK, my major gripe would be the 20 inch wheels. 20's don't belong on a performance car! (Actually 20's don't belong on any car IMHO.)

We had a deicision to make on the wheels, we wanted the Magnum 500 look but sizes jump from a 17" Magnum to the 20" we felt the 17's would be too small for the wheelwell so we went to the 20's. If anyone knows of someone making an 18" Magnum we'd be very interested, thanks, Tony

Carrol Shelby makes an 18x9.5 in three finishes.

Also different aspects of the car are nice and I'm sure they would be marketable as individual pieces, but as a whole the car is too cluttered. It looks like a great show piece of several custom parts. Un fortunately they don't all flow together cleanly.

Cervini's sells a very similar wheel in 18's. I think a couple other companies sell them too. Also Shelby started making the CS69's in 18's last month.

OK, a couple of things here. The 2 tone color combo is throwing me off. Looks like a Foose paint job. I'd like to see a solid color like something Ford is currently using. I agree the hood has to go or modify the front section of the scoop much lower. I'm diggin' the idea overall. I'd like to see a black one.

MHO...I am sorry but I have to say I think the polite replys retrobuilt is giving to some of these harshly composed posts is extremely commendable and very mature.

I think the front end does have too much going on. Moreover, make the lower bumper plain, slope the hood up towards the rear instead of the front, and add some retro 18" bullits and I bet it would look much better. And all black would definitely be a winner for me

Way to much going on in the front, as a lot of people say less is more. I would say put a standard front bumper on that and just use a normal hood scoop or no scoop, other then that I like how the front looks. Change the rear to use the standard dual exhaust cut outs, its a mustang not a corvette. I also think it would look much better with the tail panel all black instead of silver. Another thing that I think would look good on the car is the silver horse side window louvers, you might want to look into that. As for the rims, 20" is way to big for the car. As other people mentioned 18 should be as big as you go. With those changes that car would look bad a$$. You guys have a good start, now you just need to refine it.

Thanks for the input, we are taking care of the hood problem now, the rear is undergoing dramatic changes that will be seen on the Shelby version in prototyping now, I think you'll like it. The 1969 Boss 302 version is coming along nicely also, we will be incorporating the chrome bumpers and extending the roof line to the rear of the car...this really looks cool, I'll post pics of the progress soon, Thanks, Tony

The current S-197 IS a fastback ! what Retrobuilt is describing by extending the roofline into the rear of the car.. is commonly referred to as the sportsroof, which was used on the 67-73 non-notchback coupes..Although nothing would please me more, than to see and want an S-197 full fastback ? IMHO it just wouldn't look right, as both the rear glass and trunk area, would look way too high and flat, with hardly any sloping lines at all, let alone lack of rear visibility (similar to the 71-73 Mustang) in which I refer to, as the Flatback lol. That being said ! I can understand why Ford chose not to design the current S-197, as a full fastback

Let's get something straight once and for all ! First off, I'm fully aware of what a full fastback is, and what it looks like, and second.. I don't need to look at some quote you posted from a friggin dictionary either..As I stated quite clearly in my intial post, the 67-73 Mustang became a FULL FASTBACK when Ford added the SPORTSROOF thus extending the roofline all the way back to the rear of the car...I also clearly stated that nothing would please me more, than to see a full fastback on the S-197 Mustang as well..However unless Ford either raises the height of the roofline, or extends the overall length of the trunk/rear section ? both the rear glass and trunk would have the apperance of looking way too high and flat, in which the car would then look very similar to the 71-73 Mustang, which I refer to as the FLATBACK..As for the current S-197 is concerned I'll agree that it isn't a full fastback, and I never claimed that it was, but according to Ford it's never the less considered as a fastback, just as the original 1965-66 2+2 fastback was..Therefore the current S-197 is indeed a fastback, and not a NOTCHBACK. And YES ! I also want a longer roofline too, but at least Ford will give us rear quarter hips, when the 2010 Mustang arrives in mid 09..

Wow. Strike a nerve? Settle down man. I just would like to see a full fastback. What we have now is not a fastback in my opinion, and most others. It's a coupe to me.

They are both "fastbacks", just different styling end results.
