Exactly Kool. And yes, they both are fastbacks. I still think the current S197 is more coupe than fastback. The 65 and 66 fastbacks still had a pretty good continuation of the slope. The angle between the glass and trunk is greater on the S197 than the 65 and 66 fastbacks were. In any event, I'm done. Back to the original topic of the thread.

If you're going for the retro look get smaller wheels and bigger tires. It looks awesome and personally I don't think low profile tires look good on the classics. The more tire I see, the better on those cars.

Here's an idea as to what the S-197 may look like as a true fastback ! I located 3 photos of the Kenny Brown CSR-69 concept, and once again I can understand why Ford didn't design the current Mustang as a full fastback, because IMHO ! this thing is just downright FUGLY..Notice how flat the rear window and trunk area's look, as there's hardly any sloping lines at all, which I think gives the car that shoe boxed cubed apperance..At first, I was really disappointed when Ford didn't design the S-197 as a true fastback, but once I saw those pic's of the CSR-69 concept ! I knew that Ford made the right decision..

Now see, I love the Kenny Brown car. You can tell it's added on, but if the car was made like that from the factory, it'd be awesome. Maybe I like it so much because my grandpa had a Boss 351.

The problem I see with the CSR-69 is that they didn't complete the look of the 69, doesn't look like they did anything to the front of the car?? Unfortunately there is nothing any of us can do about the big butt on these cars, we are having to deal with it on our 69 version too. We will have a chrome rear bumper that will help break it up a bit. We also incorporated the 69 wheel wells, doors and entire front end including actual 69 headlight buckets and grill, shaker hood, slats, spoilers etc. Our biggest challenge right now is attempting to incorporate actual 69 taillights, I'm not sure I can pull this off and have it be a practical conversion. Retrobuilt ! let's just hope that you can pull it off, because if you can ? I'll be the first in line wanting you're full fastback conversion for my Stang, although I'd much prefer something along the lines of the 67-68 fastback, being that it's my favorite Mustang of all time, followed by the 65-66, and 69-70...

I think what you have for the lights now looks pretty darn good. It's just that the Saleen add ons make it too bulky(the Saleen wing helps in detracting from the longer rear). Perhaps you could make a stick on piece that wraps around the rear just deep enough to have the aluminum panels flush. Well that would be most of the ducktail spoilers out there, just extend it down beside the lights a littler further like a certain company does.

The 68 version is the one on the website, we are replacing the hood with the one pictured and modifying the rear. We are considering doing the full fastback treatment to the Bullit car and incorporating chrome bumper on the front, rear if possible (big butt on these cars) The Shelby will have a full KR treatment in the front and custom sequential taillights in the rear (like they should), T
