Okay I realize this may be way off topic from mod motor talk, but it's worth sharing. I'm sure this has been posted already somewhere so I apologize if it's a duplicate...but these are just completely insane

These tires are made in South Carolina , USA .

SEE THROUGH TIRES
Radical new tire design by Michelin.
The next generation of tires.
They had a pair at the Philadelphia car show.

Yes, those are 'spoke' like connections to the inner part of the tire from the outside tread 'wrap!' The next picture shows how odd it looks in motion....

Makes you wonder how the ride feels doesn't it?

These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.
The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these.
Just think of the impac t on existing technology:
A. no more air valves...
B. no more air compressors at gas stations...
C. no more repair kits...
D. no more flats...
These are actual pictures taken in the South Carolina plant of Michelin.

I can imagine this is going to be a nightmare for the police. Very interesting idea though. What do you guys think? Maybe kosmos would put them on his ride? j/k man

this is a couple years old actually. it is a cool idea, but will not look like this if it ever makes it to market. they will have a cover on the sides so it wont look like the picture. you dont want stuff getting in there throwing off balance.

I bet those will hook like mad if they make them with an extra flexible plastic.

Wonder when they will release a 315/35/17 size?
