It draws air through the grill. The dyno numbers aren't up yet on their website. 20+rwhp without a tune. I believe they'll be ready by July. I'll be ordering one and will post installation feedback and dyno numbers. It's different than the norm. I think the concept is great! Now all I need is a hood to feed air to this filter. By the time I have this CAI, I'll have my wideband and datalogging capabilities. What do you guys think?

You know I was thinking why all the CAI's out there followed the stock intake path. I thought why didn't they just put the filter right in front of the throttle body like on the older camaros. Well here ya go, someone did it. I think it will be better than the other CAI's out there just because it shortens up the intake path a bit. That usually leads to higher upper rpm hp numbers, vs long intakes which increase lower rpm torque numbers. I'm really waiting to hear your feedback on this one.

It does look rather cool, doubt it will really show any better gains than any of the others though.

My only concern is it appears to be directly over the front of the engine, I wonder how much road dirt (water, grime, dust, etc.) will be flung up ont the under side of the filter.

However that wouldn't stop me buying one, there is a much better reason, it simply doesn't come with a supercharger!

I saw that in the last issue of Mustang Monthly and I was ready to post that site. In fact, I sent an e-mail to them cause when I went to the site I couldn't find it. I just got their response this morning. If I'm not mistaken they say you can re-tune the computer and get more power out of it. I'd like to know what you think when you get it. I think they do show some dyno numbers of this intake on the site and also air/fuel data.

i like it, but there are 2 areas i'd like to see it improved in:

1) that's an awful good deal of weight to be only relying on a coupler. something about just having that filter sitting out there seems like it would want to flop around. an extra support piece may be a good idea

2) billet is still metal, which still conducts heat. sure, it's only for that tiny piece where the MAFS hooks up, but still.....

The concern about road dirt and grime also seems like a legitimate concern.

I'm not overly concerned about it's placement, dirt, etc. I don't think this location would pick up any more dirt than a CAI filter that was located in the wheel well like some previous model years. They mentioned the RAM air piece they're making which will replace the radiator cover.

so what if you get a larger throttle body? does it still bolt up? it says the stock t.b. is now the restriction point. also, a way to seal it off from the engine heat is a good idea, just have to see what the ram air setup will be like...

I wonder if it's getting hotter air from the radiator than the stock location.

The ram air sounds promising -- especially since you keep the stock hood.

Ram Air is effective at like 150mph so forget about that concept with a "Cold Air Intake"
