The one piece flange is a good indicator of quality. Don't know how the fit is but the finish looks great.

so come on.. what do you guys think? i mean.. istn stainless steel finsh a fool proof sign of quaility? but i was thinkin.. 309 gets that yellowish color.. not that it really matters to me.. as long as they dont rust away, and stainless dosent ever rust. but, does this stainless hold in heat like ceramic, better or worse?

stainless doesn't hold the heat in like ceramic coating. They will look pretty until the first turn of the key after install. Ask the seller if they are mac but i doubt it. Probably just an immitation company.

o well.. looks like im goin for the mac ceramics.. Im not buying bbk because Mac's clear the trans, are cheaper, dont have any factory dents in them, and arent known for having a "gash" in them after a while from hitting stuff. If anything goes wrong, if it happens, i hear mac stands by thir product which is still a pain from an install point, but good in many other ways.

i thought the MAC headers had a problem with slag getting sucked back in the engine.

i didnt know that the mac headers would clear the trans. i'm just worried about the quality. i was looking at SLP and Kooks today and they are both $900 plus a midpipe! post some pics when you get them

Are you guys sure that C.A.M. is a branch of MAC Performance? Looks like they sell products from other companies like steeda and JBA. I haven't heard of anyone with C.A.M. headers so I would be worried about how well they fit, but they are stainless steel and polished(dont know if they would stay looking nice when they heat up). They would also hold heat better if they were ceramic coated. I would just go with a company that has reviews, like mac, so you know what you are getting.

Saleen....rpmoutlet has a good price on SLP's and so does mustangtuning.

well the "slag" i heard only happened to one guy, so long story short, look at the headers before you put them on. shake arouns, throw, smack, whatever, just make sure theres nothing sticking out or loose in the header. Another common bash on mac is the guy who swore up and down his mac's were causing oil consumption, remember this is ONE guy.. and now its a common thing brought up. ppl will say its only for the 4v's anyways, which shouldnt concern us to begin with. Ive heard many good fitment and trans drop stories from mac users, my only cercern is the ceramic coating quaility.. question..

can you buy ceramic coating anywhere and respray it on for a double coat?

other than that, i have full faith that mac will give me another amazing sounding quaility exhaust product.

Flowtechs are cool - I like mine, got ceramic coated with o/r x pipe for $300 shipped lightly used (1000 miles).

I really don't think you can pull the trans out with mac long tubes. HP Performance had to yank my trans and they had to pull the driver side header off. I think Hooker are the only ones that allow you to pull the trans without removal of the headers. Also, I have heard with the macs you can have blow by because of how well they flow. This is with stock heads though. I had my heads worked so there fine.

there have been numerous people who have dropped the trans "without even touching" the mac headers. they said to pull the 02's, drop the trans, rotate it 90 degrees toward the passenger side, and she'll come right out.
