Checking fuel pressure

2003 4.6 I do have the shrader valve on the fuel rail however I need the adapter to fit the valve, purchased a fuel pump test kit and it seems to be lacking a connector to go from my gauge to the schrader valve, the end of my gauge is a 1/4 inch fitting so I need an adapter to go from 1/4 inch to the shrader valve. Do you know what adapter I would need? I can find some but they don't have the part that would open the core in the valve?

Any way you can hook to the line is good enough
You can take the Schrader valve out and just use high pressure 1/4" rubber fuel line and a hose clamp

Thanks, went to a few auto part stores today and nobody had the proper connector so I bought another test kit that had the proper connector.

So did you hook up your new fuel pressure gauge and test it?
You got about 35 with the vacuum line connected to the fuel pressure regulator?
And about 40 or so with the vacuum line disconnected?

pressure was 0, voltage is ok at tank near rear bumper, will change filter soon then drop tank. Anything else I should check before I drop the tank?

Your pump is shot replace and retest
So far so good you saved at least a hundred bucks diagnosing it yourself and now you own a pressure gauge and help your buddies out

There is a fuel pump switch, sometimes called an inertia switch located at the back of the trunk on the drivers side.
You might push the reset button in case it inadvertently got activated. This is a pic of where mine is, 02 GT.
