Chepeast Place for Floor Pans?

I just got my first Classic Mustang (a 1966 C-code Coupe) and the floor pans are on the garage floor (not really an exageration) and after looking through what seems like a million catalogs I wanted to know if any of you knew the cheapest place to get new floor pans? Thanks

Are you talking full or piece by piece?

Full seems to be $650 from cjponyparts or mustangs unlimited, at least for my convertible. I tried CJ first, being Pennsylvania born and bred, but they were out so I went to Mustangs Unlimited. I ordered the one piece that needs to be modified a bit in the front for a '69-70.
My reasoning was that the full pans would cost less to just buy than the cost in welding together pieces. And yes, the whole pan needs to be replaced.

It will be a month at least

but I'd be happy to show you if I get pics during the process. I'm not doing it myself, a guy who teaches body shop locally and has been doing rust repair for 20 years is doing it. I'm glad I found a good guy to do it.

If you want photos of the pan or any details on it, it's being delivered this week.

I would go with quality over price bud cause you are only gonna pay like 60 bucks per side and 20 per seat box.. but you will take a whole bunch of extra time and all that if they don't fit right.. mine are from National Parts Depot and I wasn't incredibly impressed at all.. but I mean what they can't bend I can hammer.. another thing to consider is that if they are in really bad shape including possiblyt the tunnel somebody sells I complete floor pan covering EVERYthing for 500.. pricey I know but with the time I would saved in labor and all that I almost wished I had done it.. consider it carefully and I would suggest removing the everything including the seats if you haven't already to make sure you are getting all you need... oh and make sure not to cut through the brake lines on the driver side whenever you are cutting out the floorpan... haha I guess that is from personal experience...

I thought my pans where in good shape when I bought my car and would only need some rust encapsulator applied. But when I pulled the carpet guess what rust. So I took a wire brush on a drill to them. Slid a lights under it at nigh and it looked like a starry night.

So now I’m in the process of shopping for pans. Has any one used American design pan, what was the quality?

If the whole thing isnt bad i wouldnt replace it. You can order sections and it would be a lot cheaper.

:damnit: I hope they're the worst quality floor pans ever made and I didn't just waste $200. I wonder if Mustangs Unlimited will cut me a price break even though they're already on the way?

Im curious, does the full pan fit thru the door opening, so you can actually get it in the car with cutting it up?

Well I would think the BIG hole in the floor would help with getting it in .

The full floor is not made by American Designer it is made by sherman industries. the pan is real good quality and i have one on order i will be posting pictures of the process once i am at that point

I stand corrected I thought A-D made them but to that point I don’t think there is more than one company making them. As that is one big tool and these are relative new to the market.

CJ Pony parts (who sells them) says that they fit through the windshield opening.
