i saw the first video for that build up. pretty lame if you ask me. will it be fast? yes. will it be unique? yes. is it worth the effort? NO!

I really don't see the point in swapping out the engines. A super chargewould be alot cheaper.

Well, when I was younger it seemed like when someone threw another motor at their car, from any motor manufacturer other than the car's original manufacturer, it was usually done so because the original motor died or just to build/create a car with (hopefully) a bigger, beefier motor in it for more "go fast." Speed was just speed, man.

Keep in mind though that a lot of these cars were primered, had big fat tires and rolled fender wells and loud as hell exhaust systems (rather, lack of most of the exhaust system). You know, a kind of "I built this myself" kind of creation.

But somewhere along the line that's been replaced with a kind of pride-of-ownership or something??? I dont know what to call it but I know I'm guilty of it. These days it more like Hot Rodded Mustang or a Hot Rodded Camaro, but not a Hot Rodded Mustaro or a Hot Rodded Camstang.

But on that same note, for some reason I feel like it's OK to shove a big, fat crate motor under the hood with big, fat, gnarly cams, 20-something lbs of forced induction, big nasty set of slicks out back and skinnys up front and still call it "my Mustang." (Please excuse me now while I go shopping for a SC.)

This may come off as being somewhat harsh but anyone who would even consider dropping a Chevy engine into a Mustang ? is in my honest opinion committing sacrilege by not only insulting Ford but is also insulting every single Mustang enthusiast whose ever experienced the privilege of owning one and deserves nothing short of being shot before a firing squad.. As far as I'm concerned ? Ford's crate engines are just as good, if not better and cost about the same as any GM crate motor.. Therefore there's no excuse for anyone who would stoop so low when it comes to disrespecting such an American icon as the Mustang...

I hold the opinion that individuals have a right to do what they want with their personal property. Modifying a vehicle is a personal choice. This, however, has everything to do with marketing and "shock value".

Based on this thread Wheel to Wheel Powertrain has achieved its goal with "Heretic".

In case some didn't actually read about this "project" : This is a custom build from a well known engine building company that was formed by a couple old school endurance racing gentlemen. Although originally focused on building and supplying race teams and GM with custom engines for specialty vehicles, they are obviously using marketing and shock value to sway Mustang enthusiasts to take a second look at the butt-clenching, heart pounding capability of the modified LS7 engine in the form of the LSX crate engine.

There is NO competition in the current Ford engine power plant line-up that even comes close to the LS7/LSX engine.

Stand me in front of the firing squad and call me names, but I would gladly offer my V-6 to W2W Powertrain’s Tech Team Vehicle crew to perform this rebuild. Best of both worlds: Form AND Function.

First off, the point I was attempting to get across had absolutely nothing to do with as to whether or not individuals have a right to do what they want with their personal property ? nor was it intended as infringing upon anyone's right to do so.. I'm also fully aware of the fact that modifying a vehicle is a personal choice, however my point was that anyone who considers themselves as hardcore/loyal Mustang enthusiasts ? would rather cut off a limb before ever placing another competitor's engine/powertrain into their Stang even if Ford didn't have anything close in competing with GM's crate motors..The point here is that hardcore enthusiasts are not only loyal to their Stang's ? but are also die hard Ford enthusiasts as well..As for NO competition in the current Ford engine power plant line up that even comes close to the LS7/LSX engine ?
There's 3 crate motors in which Ford can give the bowtie boys a run for their money, throw a twin turbo on either the 5.0 cammer M-6007-T50EA* 460 super cobra jet M-6007-F460FT* or 514 big block M-6007-D514RT* and for those who are so fond of the Chevy LS7 ? there's no need to offer up their Stang's to W2W Powertrain’s Tech Team Vehicle crew in order to transform their Mustang's into Camaro wannabies if they feel the need to jump onto the GM bandwagon ? they can just simply offer up their Mustang's to their nearest Chevy dealer in June/July of 09 for the all new Camaro
