Hello, me again. got another question for u guys, is there anybody that makes a drop in chip that is made for speed density, that will work for a e303 cam? Summit says in there specs that a chip is required to run right.

thanks

I merged your threads into one. As far as the chip you could get one burned at a shop. I don't know of a "drop in" chip for it.

answer is no...you would likely need to see a tuner for a dyno session, provided they are SD able. Converting to mass air is FAR FAR FAR easier than installing a cam shaft into an engine...FAR FAR FAR easier.

so the main question that I got is, Since I have already put the cam in would really help and make a big difference in performance and driveability to convert it to mass air. Here are the symptons that it is doing.

1. first start up, when leaving stop light it will hesitate and act sluggish till enough throttle is applied, then when it does catch up you are spinning all over the road.

2. Is the most common one I have heard of. It does surge up and down, usually about a 300-500 rpms difference. The surge really don't bother me a whole lot (cause it is a auto) but what does is richness of the exhaust, and the fact that when the surge goes down slow low that once and awhile it will die.

the main thing that I really honestly trying to get an answer for is. Is it really going to fix all of these symptons+better performance by converting it. I really would not want to spend that much money for something that won't fix the problem.

thanks

well less vaccum

well u will have symtoms like that because speed density is working with vacuum and the e303 cam ower vacuum a bit so u might wanna just change to mass air

There are many folks with the alphabet cams that complain of the very issues you are having.
Converting to MAF may make things better, but it isn't likely to eliminate these issues.

The problem is the cam...

Just my opinion though,

I have the same cam and have all the above problems you do. It sucks. when I first start the car for the day I have to rev it to like 3k for 2 mins before it will idle it self. some times it will stall at idle at long stop lights. and sometimes the idle is real irratic and it seems (smells) like its running pig rich. but I have a mass air car and my car is a 5 speed. hopefully I can figure it out

I have the same cam and I installed an IAC Adjuster , made a big difference in the surging.

Mine idles between 700 and 800 pretty smooth, no more dying at lights. It is an AOD.
