I own an automatic 1998 Mustang GT with a PI intake manifold and 3.73 gears. This weekend I plan on purchasing an Off-road Bassani X-pipe (stainless), weld in 40 series Flowmasters and some type of hand held tuner.

My main question is this, what tuners will fit my car and will they correct the speedometer and perform the other operations?

I found this DiabloSport predator (http://www.mustangtuning.com/diablosport-predator-2v-4v-v6-v8-mustangs.html ) that says it will work on my car, but when I search the part no. U7146 (the programmers number) all the websites say “99-04” but at that site and at Diablosports official website it says it fits “98-04” so anyone have any ideas if it will fit and the cheapest place to buy it or another chip that will fit my car?

i have been told that it will work on our year of car but we can only use a few of the functions that it does. I know it will correct the speedo, adjust shift points and a couple other things but thats it. 98's were like a freak half mechanical and half electrical. Which in 99 everything went electrical. and I thing before 98 everything was mechanical so our year was a mix so only a few things on the programmers will work. Dont quote me on this this is only what i was told when I asked the question you did.

it wont correct the speedo but it will do everything else. I have a 98 gt btw, the speedo is mechanical so you have to use a gear or a speed-cal. I was dissapionted because we thought(XMP and I ) it might work to correct the speedo but it doesnt.
