Chrome Door Handels?

Ebay has them under 20.00.Ebay is a great place to get any performance stang pieces.I have spent about 600 bucs this month on there.I send money orders most of the time and never got ripped off.So don't worry if they have alot of feedback.

Will I need the rivits that they say I need? I guess it needs two per door handel, or will I be able to use the ones I have?

I have a all black 88 gt conv. and plan on gettin the chrome handles next.I have tsw revo chrome rims sitting here waiting on the 245/50/16 goodyears to get deliverd.With the rims ,5.0 emblems,and chrome inlays in the mustang gt in the ground effects I think the handle chrome would look cool.Then finally get the trim around my top chromed then all chrome be done.When I get a digital camera I will post picks of my car.

I think it would be a good idea to use new rivets, because I am not sure if you can reuse your old ones. Like I said I still have the chrome door handles sitting in my room waiting to go on. I haven't got around to putting them on because of weather and busy with work and girlfriend so I dont know yet.

Here's a picture of mine with the chrome door handles, which were standard issue for the '79's. As for the rivets, I didn't use them. I purchased stainless steel carriage bolts (with heads that were the same size as the rivet,) stainless steel flat washers, and stainless steel nuts with the nylon inserts. This method makes it a lot easier to remove and replace them in the future. Especially if you don't have a rivet gun.

Yeah, you'll need a rivet gun. I didn't have one, so I went with the bolt method. It works just as good and makes changing them easier further down the road. I went with the stainless steel because it will never rust. In the old days, all door handles were bolted on anyway, so I figured why not try it?
