chrome or ceramic headers

i amm getting new headers for my 87 hatch. i wanted to know which will hold up better from rust chrome or ceramic.
any help would be appreciated

if you have the extra $$ definately go ceramic. i regret getting my chrome bbk's. they looked like chit after about 2 days. many other benefits with ceramic as well..

yea chrome will eventually get hot and turn colors and/or peal

I've seen both ceramic and chrome on my friends cars.
ceramic is the only way to go....imo.

I am sending my chrome headers off to be ceramic coated if that means anything to you.

Ceramic will also rust in the right conditions but it holds up much better than anything else.

you could also look at it another way other than just for rustproofing. the coating does a dual role 1st it reduses underhood temps which helps to cool the motor compartment and air charge but another gain is that by retaining heat within the headers( the purpase behind header wrap) it increases the exhaust gas velocity. hot gasses expand and travel faster which increases the scavenging effect or exit inertia which cleans out the cylinders more quickly and draws in the next air/fuel mixture more efficiently this gains some more hp and maybe net some better gains with a future h/c/i combo's.
now this is what I have read in various articles but a gain is a gain .

I'm also planning on the ford racing coated headers myself, I would like jba's if I could spring the xtra coin.

Agreed, my Ford Racing Jet-Hot Coated Headers have rust pits all over them.
