Chrome wheels maintenance

What do you guys do for maintenance on your chrome wheels, I just got mines this week and want to know if it needs some kind of polish to keep the wheels nice and shiny. Thanks.

For now just use soap&water them slap on some Poorboys wheel sealent to help them stay cleaner longer.

And no wax won't do the same Fact:wax has a melting point of about 350* trust me a few stop signs later and your there. Paint sealent like Meg's NXT or Mother Syntac(sp?) have higher melting points but still don't last much longer then wax. It's just to hot in that area for them to handle that's why they invented wheel sealent to withstand the heat. I have some on my moms Caddy and they look great, here a little more back up to my statments

EDIT:True waxes melt at 135 degrees, Sealants melt at about 465 degrees

right on poorboys pro polish followed with 2-3 coats of poorboys wheel sealant.

Ok, so I should wax the wheels and put some poorboy wheel sealant on them ? Is there any other brands that are good ?

Are you planning on driving it with chrome rims during the winter? If so, avoid it unless you have a garage when you can clean your rims daily.

I dont drive the car in the winter and would not drive it with those rims in the winter thats for sure. I just want to make sure that its the sealant I should put second and the wax first, anyways thanks for the input.

No just clean then real good and then apply the PB wheel sealent. Polishing the wheel will help the sealant last longer, but you can get away with not doing it. Putting 2/3 coats will ensure a longer protectant.

I've look in autogeek and shipping is pretty expensive, is there another place that shipping is free for cleaning products ?

I use Klasse All In One acrylic sealant.
It lasts a lot longer then regular waxes.(Yes I have tried the wheel wax and looked good but DID not last more then two weeks.)
Klasse can last over 6 weeks with regular care. Washing with car shampoo instead of wheel cleaners(I find the Klasse coated wheels can be washed easily with car soap because the brake dust cant bond or stick to the chrome)

Of course PB would win on DC!
I have used it on my chrome wheels and They both work great. Use what you like.

lol yeah some are biased there but I read the same thing on autopia.org as well. Trust me almost no one on autopia is biased they will drill any manufacture if they don't pass their tests.

i just use Turtle Wax's Chrome Polish. works really well to get 'em clean. and then just soap and water for me. i've never used the sealant but i'll look into it.
