Even though my first Mustang was a 69 coupe that I got in 1978, I'm very much a late model guy. But since I'm big into Mustangs, an elderly lady friend of my wife has asked me to help her sell her car. I'm well-versed in eBay and have successfully sold a couple of cars there, so that's the direction I'm heading. I don't know much about the classics, so I'm curious if you all can give me your impressions of the car, any info about the equipment on it and a recommendation for a reserve price.

Here's a link to the pictures I took of the car: http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc162/wythors2/Yvonnes car/

What I know about the car:

1966 A-code GT 2+2
Same lady owner since 1969.
Original Pacific Northwest car.
Dealer installed AC.
Spent most of the last 39 years as her daily driver in southern California.
285,000 miles but runs like a champ. The engine has been rebuilt twice.
The body is straight but has a little rust in the bottom of one door and one quarter and the interior is all there, but a little tired.

Comments, opinions and suggestions are welcome.

Dave, interesting car. Fortunately, being a fastback will bring greater dollars.

There are some issues there, and would like to see how the chassis looks. At some point the car appears to have been repainted. Looking at the pictures, and without seeing the chassis and seeing it first hand, I would put worth in the $14K area.

Yes Rich, it has been spot painted a couple of times and completely repainted once. Being the lady's DD for almost 40 years, it has had its share of battle scars. The right door has been replaced and a shop that worked on it in SoCal backed it into a post 30 years ago, so the trunk and tail light panel have been worked. I don't have access to a hoist, so I can't get pictures of the underside, but being a NW and SoCal car, we don't normally get frame rust since they don't use salt up here. Like this one, most cars here get rust in areas where drain holes get clogged up or debris collects.

Original "A" code GT, or a "dresser"?

I think $14k would be a good price for the buyer.

Bidding is already over $13,000 with 6 days to go and I've already had two offers of $20k.

$14,000 would indeed be a good price for the buyer. Not so good for the seller.
