I've noticed two interesting things with my 67.

1) As soon as I get behind the wheel, I experience a sense of great relaxation, accompanied by an ear to ear smile that lasts until approximately 30 seconds after I park and turn off the ignition. (then I getting jittery and have to make up another excuse to drive it)

2) I can't take the car anywhere without getting compliments, thumbs-up, and people telling me about the "old Mustang [they] had years ago."

I had the same experience with my first 67, but had forgotten until now. Anyone else experience this too?

I was suprised by a bunch of 10-12 year old kids the other day that stopped playing to watch me drive by and gave me the thumbs up.

yeah, the kids in my neighborhood always stop by when I'm working on it or washing it. Then there was a guy in his 20s, home from college, who stopped by to introduce himself and BS about the car for awhile.

Funny, I never noticed the Talk forum. I see that this thread is definitely talk material. If a mod wants to move this thread, I won't snivvvvel.

Everybody has a Mustang story. They had one, their buddy had one, their first date was in one, etc.

Great cars and great stories.

Now I havn't driven my car since i've owned it as its been going through a restoration phase, however everytime I think about driving it I get geeked up and wanna drive. Every time I start the thing it puts a smile on my face from one ear to the other. Only a few more things to finish up on it and it'll be ready for the road...I can't wait

I noticed the shelby (67?) at the barrett auction got the crowd fired up.Drew huge money if I remember correctly. People love these cars because of the memories.

Took my Stang to work yesterday because I couldn't make it to the storage yard in time on Sunday night. Taking it to work today, well just because it's going to be a really nice day!
