Claybar Question

Claying is definitely a good thing. I'd do it once a year if I were you.

I detailed a 2001 volvo a couple of weeks ago that had never been clayed. The paint felt like sandpaper. Claying took care of it. :nice:

Check out www.autopia.org if you wanna get serious on washing/waxing your car. They give great reviews on just about every car care product, and their forums are awesome. They also have detailed instructions about how to do things the right way, believe me I was doing things wrong to my car for years, autopia changed all that. Also, its a good idea to claybar the car about every 3-6 months in my opinion, best done after washing. After you wash, claybar it real good and throw some good wax on it like Meguiar's NXT which you can get at wal-mart. I recommend getting the Mother's Gold clay bar if I was you, alot more pliable bar than the clay magic one. Later.

Since I have never used clay on my car, I was wondering the order that I should use it. Should I use clay first then wash and then finally wax? Thanks.

nah...wash it first, make sure it's completely clean. You can clay it while it's wet or dry, just make sure you use some type of lubricant (either water w/ a bit of car soap mixed in OR the clay lubricant that they sell) while you clay. You might want to wash it again afterwards.
