so today i was feeling appreciative of my car and i was bored so i opend the hood when it was cool and just spot checked some places to clean some stuff. i just sprayed carb. cleaner where i wanted clean. i avoided headers, and wires and stuff like that, let it sit for a bit then lightly hosed it off. i was wondering what needs to be covered to do this to the whole engine, i really want to clean it up some, theres oil gunked everywhere and its shamefull. annddd i took some pics, only one i like, i photoshoped it some to make my paint look not messed up and stuff. thats on my other computer, im on my laptop now so ill post that in about 30 mintues. thanks for listening to me ramble..

oh yeah.. i knew there was something i forgot. can a shop take an engine out and take it apart to replace all the gaskets but also take the whole thing apart to check things to make sure there okay? like bearings and junk. i want this car to last a while and its ticking and making odd noises and my front seal and valve cover gaskets leak, would it be worth it to have someone take it apart and look at it? maybe treat the cyl. walls while im there, replace whatever they say looks like it may break. my car sat in a garage for 10 years so im starting to not rely on my other gaskets..or wait for H/C/I money? what to do what to do.

when i clean my engine, i just soak the thing with degreaser at the carwash, let it sit and then rinse it off. Works like a charm. except one time i got water in the dizzy and the car ran like ass for like 4hrs, would sputter like a mofo and wouldnt rav past 2500. it sucked :O
