nothing spectacular or show worthy but it did clean up well. i used some Greased Lightning Blast (Orange Powered) and some Gunk Engine Brite degreaser. i think i spent about $5 between the two bottles. covered both fenders with towels along with the cowl, bagged my dizzy, mass air, alt and coil then sprayed everything down. let it sit for about 10/15 min then hosed everything off. had i scrubbed certain areas, i think it would have looked even better. for just spraying on and hosing off, i got my $5 worth

Looks good. I've been wanting to do that for a while now but I'm afraid that I'd mess something up, getting water where it ain't s'posed to be.

thanks man. i got the same fear you do. i still havent started it yet. i want to make sure everything dries out really good first. cross your fingers it starts but i bagged all the important stuff, so there really shouldnt be any reason why it shouldnt start.

If you drive your car in the rain no need to worry much...

I do this every other time I wash the car... so maybe 5-8 times a year... 2-3 of these with soem type of chemical... NEVER had a problem... just rinse the motor do not pressure wash the motor...

BTW I never cover anything when I wash it either...
