Cleaned my Maf....

I was getting 3 codes... bank 1 lean... bank 2 lean... and maf reading low or something.... so i took it apart i had to go buy a tamper torx set.... the wires were covered in black nastyness... i had never cleaned it.... so its been that way for 212,000 miles... now the car pulls so much harder HUGE Difference!!!!

I might clean mine tomm.

Anyone have a write up for this?

i find it funny my car ran good my 93 this is then i cleaned it and wow it was a lot better then it ran like crap after awhile now i have to constantly clean it if not i get a hesitation or a stumble when i first rev it.

all these damn sensors have really been making me want to go carb'd...

You'll regret going carb. Trust me. I have done FI to carb swap on my old z28. I hated the car after I carbed it.

just take out the maf sensor (need T20 torx) and spray the wires with electric spray cleaner, or carb spray
let it dry
reinstall

i pulled it out using the tamper free torx... then sprayed a q tipo with 2+2 cleaner and got all the gunk off the contacts

So you need some tamper proof torx heads? Ill have to see if I can find mine.
