Hey all,

Bought a new guage cluster lens and it has some kiind of film on it. From those that have replaced theirs, what did you use to clean it before installing?

I don't want to ruin it before I even put it on. I tried dish soap but that didn't touch it.....

Thanks

Jeff

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm thinking about using the plastic windshield cleaner my dad uses on his Harley.

That stuff looks great! But I dont need $100.00 worth of it. Do you know if it is available in any retail places. I did find it on E-bay but still $20.00 or more.

Not sure, the can I have I bought a long time ago, don't even remember the price either. I looked around on google, looks like $20 is about what a can costs including shipping.

Ha! Hey at least he's trying to help.

I was thinking of trying some of that mothers plastic lens cleaner stuff. Like the stuff you use on yellowed headlights......

Thoughts

To clarify: When I have clear plastic that has foggy patches, buffing compound usually takes it out. Its the same thing as buffing out a light scratch in your clear coat.

No, I wouldn't use it on the cluster either. Just the lens that the OP was referring to

Well I broke down and contacted American Muscle and explained the problem.

They sent a new one out today and issued an RMA for the defective one to be sent back at their expense. NOW THAT'S CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

I love ordering stuff for my car from them............should have contacted them sooner...

Thanks AM you guys are awesome!
