cleaning locker, what to use?

I am wanting to clean all the old oil off the locker before reinstalling. What should I use and do to clean the locker up before reinstalling?

what kinda locker stock....aftermarket.. and why clean it should you not rebuild it...before reinstall...why did you remove it need more info....

It is brand new but I had to pull it back out because everything wasnt right. I had put the wrong kind of limited slip additive in it also, so now I need to clean all that off and put in the right type of additive with fresh gear oil again.

the only thing i can think of is to soak it and clean it with new gear oil but it should not be a big deal if you let it drip dry and reinsert it...
